Background

Providence, Rhode Island, 1935. The Great Depression is in full swing.

The adventure begins with the sudden and inexplicable death of a local workman. This event catapults the Investigators into a strange inquiry steeped in madness, mystery, murder, and dark powers.

The investigators will strive to stave off a Mythos threat by untangling a dark mystery that makes extensive use of real Providence history and locations. Can you bring comfort to a grieving widow, or will this death merely presage greater horrors to come?

This is a classic Call of Cthulhu adventure. Both newcomers and veterans will find the story to be an engaging mystery filled with perilous surprises.

Style

This is a “prop-intensive” adventure from the HP Lovecraft Historical Society, who have a very strong reputation for quality plots and supporting material. Rather than making a library use roll you may find yourself searching through actual physical documents, examining maps, and listening to audio files over the radio.

Pregenerated characters are included (a pastor, a librarian, an electrician, a nurse, a builder, and a homemaker). No Call of Cthulhu experience required.
